IPCS runs an internship programme to help young researchers gain experience honing research, writing, and organisational skills, which will become invaluable assets in their future areas of work.
We welcome applications from outstanding undergraduates, postgraduate students, recent graduates, and MPhil or PhD scholars pursuing studies in Politics, History, International Relations, or related fields.
An internship at IPCS involves exposure to a range of opportunities related to publications, conferences, and roundtable discussions with experts from India and across the world. Participation in dialogue and debate is very much encouraged, and we seek to provide interns with opportunities to expand professional networks and connect with New Delhi’s policy community. . Along with undertaking independent research and writing projects, interns will assist with team administrative duties such as helping to coordinate IPCS events, and will contribute to other IPCS initiatives such as the outreach programme.
IPCS accepts applications throughout the year on a rolling basis. Interested applicants are advised to apply at least six months prior to their desired start date. Internships are three months in duration, on a rolling basis, full-time, and unpaid. Applicants must clearly mention the months for which they are applying in the application form below.
Interns will be selected depending on the strength of their applications and the number of positions available. Due to the large volume of applicants, we ask that you do not call to enquire about the status of your application.
